Overview

Mission HUD is a desktop application that runs locally on your computer. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

The short version: Your code never leaves your machine. We collect the minimum data needed to manage your subscription.

1. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Your source code, project files, or repository contents
  • AI conversation history or prompts
  • Your API keys (these are stored locally on your machine only)
  • File system contents or directory structures
  • Terminal command history or output
  • Screenshots or screen recordings

2. Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary for subscription management:

  • Email address — for your account and license delivery
  • License key and machine identifier — to validate your subscription
  • Subscription status — plan type, billing period, renewal dates
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Paddle (our Merchant of Record). We never see or store your credit card details.

3. How Your Data Flows

  • AI API calls go directly from your machine to the AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). We are not an intermediary.
  • License validation — on launch, the app sends your license key and a machine identifier to our server to verify your subscription. No code or project data is included.
  • Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as the Merchant of Record and handles all financial data.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Paddle — payment processing and subscription management. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
  • AI Providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) — you connect directly using your own API keys. Their privacy policies apply to your use of their services.

5. Data Storage and Security

Subscription data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway. All connections use TLS encryption. We do not store any data beyond what is listed in Section 2.

6. Data Retention

We retain subscription data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, we retain records for up to 12 months for accounting and legal compliance, then delete them. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for data processing

8. Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies for essential functionality only (e.g., session management). We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page. Your continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
